Don Leichel was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. His family returned to the Netherlands after the second world war, where Don attended High School and the Nautical College in Amsterdam. Having the necessary qualifications, which included astronomy, he began his career as a navigation officer in the Dutch Merchant Navy.
In the 1960s Don got married and he and his wife emigrated to Australia where he obtained an accountant degree. Don subsequently worked as an internal auditor in the Australian oil industry.
In the early 1970’s he returned to the Netherlands with his wife and two sons and started a career in the Banking Sector.
In 1984 Don and his wife moved to New Zealand to meet with their eldest son, a qualified agriculturalist. They decided to stay in New Zealand, where Don worked for the government as an senior auditor.
During his retirement years, Don began to shift his interest to archaeology, philosophy and ancient history. Following in the footsteps of his father, he studied Egyptology and encountered the phenomenon of Moses and the Exodus. Don was able to pinpoint the sign of Moses’s birth from official astronomical tables and this led to the accurate dating of the Exodus. It triggered his interest in the Bible. In his working career, Don had acquired an inclination for numbers. And this attracted his attention to the intriguing numeric prophecies of Daniel in the Bible.
Upon close analysis, Don discovered that the numbers lined up with historic and astronomical events at the birth of Jesus. These discoveries led him to publish his non-fiction book: The Man Clothed In Linen. The massive publicity triggered by the Turin Shroud investigations, alerted Don to enter upon a discovery process that took him years of in-depth research, applying his earlier findings publicized in The Man Clothed In Linen. The Turin Shroud scientific and historical analyses, convinced him of the prophetic and historical links converging in the image of the man in the Shroud. It has led to his summary of facts on the authenticity of the Turin Shroud and its prophetic connection with Jesus’s second coming.
Don’s groundbreaking and undeniable findings will be presented in his new book with the title “Sworn to Secrecy”, to be launched in the fourth quarter 2024.
